Japan Coug Intervention Needed
UCF is perceived to be better than their record (their game at Iowa State last
week reinforced this perception), and this is a long road trip for BYU, across two time zones, to play in heat and humidity they’re not really used to. College teams generally have pretty poor records when playing on the road 2 time zones away. I believe BYU has only ever won one true road game in Florida, vs. USF a few years ago, while they've lost at least 5 that I can recall (at USF, at UCF, at Florida St. twice, and at Miami).

There is also a perception among some that BYU has gotten “lucky” and is overachieving and likely to fall back to earth soon. But I actually think this is less of a factor now than the first two points above.
