It was uncatchable. The throw was 5yards in the opposite direction the receiver
was running.

Say what you will about ARod and his play calling...

He is significantly better. So let’s have Ropati take a stab at passing to see what he-OH NO what just happened?!?

A clear missed PI happened.

You mean “ignored” . . . There was no way you could miss that one

Yep that was a big missed call and very dumb. Not as dumb as the play call though

Honestly, the throw wasn’t even close to the tripped player

and caught by the guy that tackled Lassiter. So clearly NOT uncatchable

I’ll have to rewatch it, but I think it was caught by the guy that threw him
bluecougar1985
11:28am
Totally, but it was also one of the worst passes I have seen thrown all season
Jericho

A clear hold on Lassiter. He’s behind the defender and probably catches it

Doesn’t change the fact that Ropati threw it like a 10 year old pop warner QB.

I feel like the average CBer could have made a better pass

I think if Ropatis throw was closer to our player, it would’ve had a better

Critiquing this is fine as long as you also critique the other 90% of the time

That's not how byuTX rolls. That glass is always going to be at least 5% empty.

Former QB Parker Kingston? Yes. Ropati? No. Especially when we can run at will

The problem was the play got blown up and Ropati got hit as he threw
Indy Coug

He decided to throw it no matter what. He’s not practicing @ QB under pressure and doesn’t have the reps to know to eat
byuTX
11:33am
It’s amusing that you think you know how the play was practiced.
Junior Deputy

I think I wasn’t clear with my point. I don’t think he has had enough time and
byuTX
11:38am
Perhaps, and just hear me out, they practiced it the same way every play is
Junior Deputy
11:45am
I’m sure they practiced it a bunch. But he clearly messed it up and didn’t have the experience, wherewithal or instinct
byuTX

Not in a game that matters and Definitely not Ropati. Horrible play call
byuTX

This is definitely not true

You can't only do Kingston ... the defense will know and that's too predictable

I do critique the times it works if they seemed unnecessary at the time. Why not

It definitely appears that somebody kidnapped ARod a few games ago.

I wonder how the O-line figures in to that.
Cosmo Kramer

A huge reason for improved QB play is Coach Woods and the O-line.
CopperLix

The game is "slowing down" for Jake in large part because he has more time to make decisions due to improved OL play.

BYU's qb development is excellent. Any doubts about that should be put to rest permanently.

He was rough, but he wasn't nearly as bad as you would think after reading the gloom and doom on cb.
