Skeptical Optimist Intervention Needed
It's basic supply/demand. They can't sell too many otherwise you don't get any value from it.
They have chosen to limit supply by raising the price. It's a very reasonable business decision - especially when there are people willing to pay for it.

They could make the same amount of money by charging $40 and having 10x the number people buy it, but then those people would all complain that it was a waste of $40 that didn't bring them any value.
