I get that his whole point was to say he was raised in a very traditional family environment and now lives in New York which is the complete opposite. But the way he did it was just odd IMO. Do you need to talk about making out with girls as a missionary? Saying college kids get rewarded for reporting others through the honor code (which is that even real? Like do you get a cash bonus for doing so??).

I doubt general listeners really cared that much, but as an active LDS member, BYU alumn, and employee of the company hosting this event it didn't make me feel inspired.
