Mars is only 2 days away if we can travel the entire trip at 1 g acceleration.
We could reach the moon in under 4 hours and Jupiter in 6 days. Even Neptune would be only 15 days away.
(This assumes we spend half the trip accelerating and the other half slowing down—we’re not looking for a fly-by.)

This really cool, but FTL is the only way we get out of the inner part of our own solar system.

Not with current tech, but well within the realm of possible near future tech.

Other than the novelty & adventure of it, I just don't see humans living on Mars

Oh, I'm also a Musk fanboy, and a Mars colony would be incredible.

It would be far easier and cheaper to live in Antarctica than on Mars

Good point. Until Antarctica is full, Mars is a non-starter and unnecessary

I watched the booster catch, and I was laughing at the computer screen saying,

Why is it such a big deal? Looks cool, why is it better than the rocket landing?

The goal is to make these boosters like commercial airplanes, launch a ship into space, land the booster on the tower

You can't effectively land a booster of that size. You would have to give the

Plus, landing on the same tower that you also launch from allows for rapid reusability
