It is hard to replace a long-term, successful coach in any sports program. I think Utah took this approach, announcing Scalley early, in hopes to both keep Scalley and to continue their culture and success. However, are recruits and transfers really going to view playing for Scalley as equivalent to KWhitt? If Scalley can't find success immediately, things could fall off pretty fast and I could see their program becoming pretty middle of the road.
