Love Claire Little. She flashes smiles, but if she mishits it, she puts some extra mustard on her next hit. Love it.
Mortensen is talented but still adjusting to D1 play. At times, she is very effective, other times she struggles. The more reps she gets, the more consistent she will be.
Strong is a nice addition. When you are good enough that a talent like Mia Lee can ride the pine, then you have some real players on the floor.
Kemavor is getting better every game.
I love Kate Prior. Super strong blocker. Not sure why her hitting has struggled. Some of it is a young setter who struggles to get Kate the ball in the right spot, but some of it is also on Kate.
Blakley Bobick comes with the right emotion. At times, she just wills it to the floor. But she is a little undersized and when the set doesn't allow a full approach, then unlike Claire, Blakley can't thump it with just her arm swing.
Alex is developing as a setter but for a frosh is pretty darned good.
The area where the team can still really improve is serve receive and back row D. Hanna Billeter and Lulu Uluave have been rotating at libero. We will see if one of them can lock it down. Also Johnson seems to be playing over the more experienced Brielle Miller. Our hitting will improve as serve receive improves. Alex is getting where she can run the middle, but not if the serve receive gets sprayed. leaving the only option of heaving it high and outside. Serve receive is defining BYU's success right now, more than the hitters.
