But I think that 0-4 start to his career (however little of that was his fault, given the difficulty of the four opponents and that he was a de facto freshman being thrown into the deep end) set an unusually high "show me" bar in the BYU fan base. And so far, he's showing us and then some.
Beck had some good insights on Retzlaff's "sneaky" arm talent - to the effect that Jake will make a series of solid throws but that don't really stand out and then suddenly he rifles some precision laser of a throw that a lot of guys can't make -
Hope we see him becoming more consistent as the weeks go forward. And main, I hope we can develop a consistent running attack so he doesn't have to do it all.
