I think their breakaway scenario that they probably fear (even though this is just a guess) is how's it going to affect the other sports in particular the men's NCAA basketball tournament? They will have a very hard time replicating that on their own considering that the ACC and Big 12 have a considerable amount of blue blood programs which will get even more amplified if UCONN is invited to join the Big 12 one day. Yes I'm very aware that college football rules the roost but at what cost?
