Pretty much a big nothingburger from SEC/B1G. Likely won't get serious until Feb
Greg Sankey says the discussion re: postseason football here in Nashville was about this season, campus hosting, etc. "Our focus on the future format comes after we go through this first cycle of the expanded College Football Playoff. Not a lot of conversation about What Ifs."
Greg Sankey, asked if the Big Ten/SEC can unilaterally change the CFP format: "No, but we do have a defined role where we have to be clear participants at the end of that conversation."
Greg Sankey on the first season of the 12-team CFP: "This has to go incredibly well. This has to be a successful launch. This isn't the time to talk about governance in (2026) or the format in '26."
So, no decisions regarding a larger bracket/multiple AQs for 2026 and onward.
