Guys with proven experience are still finding work. Entry level is as tough as I've ever seen it.
There are tons of other technical roles outside of dev that are still in high demand. Learning to code isn't particularly difficult and that's where everyone ran for the money. Still lots of demand for cloud architects and engineers, network admins, database admins, sys admins etc..
