There's no sum of money that would be worth the aggravation that would cause. Heck, my kids were quite upset once when some dumb teens rolled up and shot a porcupine dead out of one of our apple trees. I was upset, too, not least because the tree was between the road where they'd stopped and my living room window just up the hill, meaning that a missing might have very well hit my house.

As for the dog, if the neighbor were an idiot enough to shoot the family dog thinking it was a coyote, I'd just as soon he put a bullet in his own leg first.
