The winning at all costs is what has created so many problems in HS sports imo.

Have a bunch of friends whose kids are now entering the prospect of trying to play for a school with a Polynesian HC, Polynesian AD, Polynesian principal with a team that is 95% Polynesian with kids all throughout the Big Island and Hawaii coming in every month to a public school where the taxpayers who actually live in the school boundaries have to rent apartments in different towns and transfer their kids so their kids can actually play, which then screws over kids in those communities... And some of these kids (imo) are actually as talented if not more talented as the transfers but of the wrong skin color. Also helps having your AD be the UHSAA representative for the area that signs off on all these bogus transfers.

Agree that in general varsity HS should be purely meritocracy based. Play where you live. Best kids play. Pretty simple.
