We used to add sodium bicarbonate to the local anesthetic if doing injection because it minimizes the zing from the loca
Of course we were never billing for the local We were injecting. We would add 1 cc of sodium bicarbonate with 10 cc of lidocaine. I see where you can get 50 ml of sodium bicarbonate for $40. The sodium bicarbonate should add less than a dollar to the injection and they should just be providing this as the service To make the local quicker onset with less burn/sting
