The athletic department is projected to have an accumulated deficit of $27M by 2027.
Leaving the MWC would cost them $17M while staying would earn them $25M+.
The combined loss of $42M is too strenuous for a department with an annual budget of $66M.
The accompanying analysis that the department did not have any strategy to avoid the deficit.
