BYU projected above them in the CFP, when they are ranked #10 in the country (without their QB1...yet), and with the game at RES, this type of stuff just adds to the motivation to knock BYU off their current tenuous (but deserved) pedestal. They also will not be lulled in to BYU being a pushover, after what we've done thus far, especially most recently vs a top 13 team. The Utes were already seething (sustained seething) since 2021, and now they're gonna be chomping at the bit to get BYU back to RES.
BYU is legit, but admittedly, so is Utah.
Regardless, if both teams hold serve, and remain undefeated going in to this game, Utah's first and BYU's second in the B12 after being projected 13/16 teams, with conference championship implications on the line as B12 newcomers, this could be a "Holy War" for the ages. And "if" (it could happen) all those things happen, with both being undefeated by the game, I'm pretty sure I can hear the wafting sounds of "We are coming to your City," echoing along the Wasatch front. Let's hope Kirk Herbstreit calls it correct again - correct being that he chooses the "right" choice.
