I went back to 1998 when the BCS first started and if they'd had 24 team playoffs starting in 1998 till today then BYU would've been in the playoffs 7 times (2001, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2020, and 2021) and some of those BYU would've hosted a first round game. I think that would've had the fanbase and Provo buzzing way more than playing in the Las Vegas Bowl.
