When you're playing a better team and it's 4th... you should go for it less often than the book says.

I like the way we've handled 4th down this year. Had I been coaching, we probably would have gone for it 2 additional times.

This week though... we'd should be less aggressive about going for it on 4th.

Edit - if you have a great defense... then that means you should also be going for it more often than the book says.
