Any time he’s played a decent or good team it’s not looked good. He makes many poor/inaccurate throws with no pressure including the WYO game and they are not good. The lack of a good running game doesn’t help but on the other hand he has the best group of wide receivers we’ve ever had and very good tight ends - that should be factored if we’re factoring the below average running game. Only 1 week ago against a decent team we had like 9 three and outs, out of 14 possessions and almost every one of our remaining opponents is better than SMU.

I will say JR had two excellent back shoulder throws (both to Chase) I thought were the best throws he’s made as a Cougar. Maybe he turned a corner but there was a lot in that WYO game that still looks like it will get exploited by any decent defense
