The University of Utah football team is like the ultimate underdog that just can’t quite figure out whether it's supposed to be Cinderella or the pumpkin. Sure, they show flashes of greatness, but somehow they’re always one bad call or an imploding offense away from turning a potential dream season into “well, maybe next year.”

For a team that prides itself on defense, it’s funny how their offense sometimes looks like they’re playing with the complexity of a Madden video game on rookie mode. The run-first, throw-later approach feels like it belongs in 1998, but apparently, Utah's motto is, "If it ain't broke... just wait till you play a team with a good quarterback."

And speaking of quarterbacks, Utah seems to cycle through QBs like a high school kid swiping through Tinder. You’re always promised a star in the preseason, only for the offense to end up running into a brick wall by October, leaving fans wondering if this is really a Pac-12 team or just an undercover Mountain West throwback.

But hey, at least they’ll always have that Rose Bowl loss to look back on and pretend it was a victory.
