His first two games were bad. Games 3 and 4 he had us in position to beat top 20 teams. Those weren't bad games. Yes he made mistakes in them. Every QB has made those mistakes. Maybe we win one or both of those games if he doesn't make one or two of those mistakes. But if you're going to say he lost us those games with his mistakes, then you also have to go back and look at the mistakes made by the opponent. You also have to look at all the positive plays he made to have us in position to win. You going to take away some of those as well?

He isn't nearly as bad as some of you are making him out to be. Yes, he made those mistakes against SMU. Yes, the game wouldn't have gone down to the last minute if he doesn't make those mistakes. But it's also true that BYU doesn't win the game without the plays that he did make. All the correct reads. All the perfect throws thrown into tight coverage.

We're all happy to praise our defense for forcing all the mistakes SMU made, but put the blame squarely on Jake for his mistakes instead of also giving credit to the SMU defense for the things they did to force those mistakes.
