Taking on half of Conference USA and trying to batten down the ship as the 3rd best non P4.

I would think that the financials would be just a little better for the incoming Conf USA schools and that the competitive positioning is the best that they could hope for.

I would think they should take 6 programs:

Liberty
New Mexico St
UTEP
Western Kentucky
Louisiana Tech

Then Sam Houston or Middle Tennessee

These Conf USA teams can then unload deadweight of programs like Kennesaw St, FIU, etc and make a best of what left.

Make an eastern and western division to cut down on travel costs.
