I was totally bummed when Ty left to Gilbert. I was NOT a rioting parent, but I can see how its a sucker punch having such a great coach & person move up the street to a neighboring school.

The whole Gilbert Goons scandal has been a mess. I was watching the Duke Lacrosse 30 for 30 documentary, and that scandal felt very similar to the Gilbert Goon fiasco. Similar to how many of the Duke Lacrosse players were unfairly judged & criticized, and ultimately ignited a long-standing tension of racism in North Carolina, I feel happened here in Phoenix. It was like Valley-area Charter school students (like ALA), who may already have been disliked by public school proponents, were unfairly judged, and ignited similar public response. It felt as if the local charter-school haters used the Gilbert Goon incident as fuel for their fire, that charter school students are cocky, arrogant & entitled. My understanding is that while one or two Gilbert Goons went to ALA, most of them didn't, and even the ones that did (Renner) had only gone there a year or two (after getting kicked out of his previous schools). Bottom line, it was a horrible thing that happened to Preston Lord, and hopefully there will be full justice.

I'll be at the game tonight. Should be fun. Both ALA schools look legit and should be a great game.
