Also famous in AZ for being the hometown boy who stole the Rose Bowl from ASU in the last minute and kept them from
being the only undefeated in the country and presumptive National Champions.
Ironic, because he wanted to play at ASU all along, but yeah wouldn’t take him as a QB. So he played JC ball and then went on to tOSU, B1G player of the year, and a short stint in the NFL.
Too bad the Devils didn’t sign him. Would have been a great backup to Plummer and then a great starter thereafter, but just keeping him away from OSU would have been worth the schollie in retrospect.
