Most of the top FCS schools are moving up.
The FCS ranks have lost a lot of contenders - Appalachian State, Georgia Southern, Coastal Carolina, Old Dominion, and Liberty - among others - over the last decade or so.

There is another current FBS-upgrade push - James Madison, Jacksonville State, Sam Houston, Kennesaw State, Delaware, Missouri State.

Why are they moving up?

Are the Dakota and Montana schools really content to remain at the top of a dwindling FCS level? What if regional schools leave the FCS, like Idaho, Sacramento State, and UC-Davis?
