Let's remember this ugly day in our history and vow to be better.
I'm not proud to bring this up, but I do so with the hopes that we can learn from the past and become unburdened from what has been.

Some of you might remember this incident, as posted on the Wyoming message board. For those who aren't aware, let me re-tell the tale.

The year was 2016. BYU and Wyoming were about to face off in the San Diego Poinsettia Bowl, and fanbases from both schools descended upon the beautiful city of San Diego. As the story goes, a group of Wyoming fans had just finished up serving food at the local soup kitchen, then decided to visit the Mormon Battalion Museum in Old Town. As they approached the museum, a large group of BYU fans commenced heckling the poor Wyoming fans. One guy wearing a "Utah High School" hat (making it obvious he was from Utah) shouted, "Wyoming fans at 12 o'clock", which signaled a group of LDS bishops to form a "wall" that the UW fan's couldn't move past.

One particularly hostile LDS bishop sneered, "Wyoming fans aren't welcome here!", as his cohorts snickered and possibly flashed brass knuckles.

Thankfully, nobody was hurt in this ordeal, due to the calm and peaceful demeanor of the Wyoming fans. But nonetheless, tremendous damage was done, and some have said that this incident has all but halted our missionary efforts between the Tri-Cities of Rawlins, Medicine Bow, and Elk Mountain.

So, here's my plea for those of you traveling to Laramie: Brethren, let's please be better. And if you were one of the bishops that was part of that San Diego mob, please issue an apology.
