I climbed it around the same time of the year, and while it was a beautiful sunny day, the morning shadows were ice, ice cold above the lower saddle. I planned poorly and didn't pack gloves, but for some reason had an extra pair of wool socks. Those filled the roll well and it makes me smile to this day remembering how glad I was to slip those on my hands.
