It's a roped climb with 3,000' exposure
Once you top out, you have to do a 200+ foot repel. It's dangerous but she is under the care of Exum guides...so controlled risk.
The teacher/guide who is leading them up suggested that it was no more dangerous than trying to leave the student parking lot at the end of a school day.
