That rumor/myth has taken on a life of its own with UU fans.

After the reports that Ryan knows Kevin Young through their NBA connections and had encouraged KY to come to BYU, that's all it took for UU fans to be instantly convinced that Ryan Smith was single-handedly funding an enormous pool of NIL money to lure kids to play for the Cougars.

And at this point, I'm not sure there is anything that will convince them otherwise.
