Calcium scans don’t detect blockages. Need a different more intensive study
for that (coronary CT). They do detect calcium or plaque deposition and correlate that “general burden” with your age/gender

Even then there is very little to no data that supports “fixing”
asymptomatic blockages with stents or surgery reduces heart attacks or death.

But to your point, identifying your risk based on your plaque or calcium burden can lead to medications (statins) and lifestyle changes that may reduce your future risk.

As with a lot of things in medicine, screening for disease isn’t always simple
