They came back and said billing shared the following: because it had been a few weeks since I was seen by the PT (was on vacation in Europe), the PT needed to do a re-evaluation to see if anything had changed since I saw him a few weeks prior (vs going in each week). That’s why I had to pay double. What was the reevaluation? He bent my arm for a second to make sure I still had the same soreness in my shoulder. Outside of that I did the same exact thing as the time prior.
I told the woman that I wasn’t mad, just super confused and felt a little duped that no one mentioned anything about charging me double for the “reevaluation” that was so needed.
This type of stuff shocks me with how little transparency there is. No where in the world have I seen such an opaque and impenetrable transaction process for a good or service than in the healthcare industry. It’s maddening.
