My neighbor's cat has worked wonders for us.

Went from 20+ dirt piles in the yard down to zero this year. I didn't actually do anything.

I think you put the bucket and trap over the hole.

Find the holes. Put the trap at the entrance and cover with a bucket.

That's what I did. Stuck a hose down the hole and pumped a couple hundred gallons of water down there.
