Unfortunately that aspect of coaching isn't fair. Donors back who they like.
If the boosters don't think Sitake is the guy, they're not going to invest. And if the football program has lost the ear (and more importantly the wallets) of big donors, the only way to get them back is either win more with less or else make a coaching change and energize the boosters that way.
KY is getting more resources because he's new and shiny, but also because he's knocking it out of the park. Success begets success.
