We have a minivan and a 6 seat pickup. Works well for us. Minivan for road trips
and around town, Truck for adventures and light work like pulling utility trailers or hauling mulch / rock / sand for yard stuff.
6 seat truck (which are getting harder to find) in case our family size grows (currently at 3 kids but could increase). Truck and van both a bit older to avoid big car payments.
