When I take the kids to an activity, like a sports practice, I'll run for an hour wherever the activity is, and then when they are done I'll pick them up.
I work out before my family wakes up. You are working long days. I wouldn't personally do that everyday. If you could start work at 7 or 8 three days a week, instead of 6, you could have three solid morning workouts, and you'd still probably be giving enough to your employer. If you feel bad about it, work an extra hour in the evening.
I work out a lot, so in order to be present in the household, I do things with the others in the household that they like to do. This is also motivating to have team support. I run with my dog in the mornings. I go to the gym with my wife in the evenings. I run with my son. I play basketball with my daughter. I swim with my wife. Etc.
Lots of people watch lots of tv. I ride my trainer when watching tv in the evening. I ride a ton and I still watch a lot of shows with my wife in the evenings.
It also motivates me to sign up for races, so I have a goal I'm working towards.
