He claims the domestic violence incident is not covered under Titie IX because:

- the incident occurred off-campus
- it occurred outside an apartment building
- once he became aware of the arrest, he notified the Deputy AD

USU for its part said that Title IX covers scholarship players, regardless where an incident occurs.

It also states that Anderson, instead of reporting it, within 24 hours, took it upon himself to interview the player, the victim, and a witness.

It adds that Anderson only reported it when he discovered the player has been arrested.
