POLL: Have you ever been to the Robert Lewis Stevenson grave in Samoa?
If so, I’d love to hear a little bit about your experience. How it was, etc.

He’s kind of a big time favorite historical person to me and someone I really admire. Going to his Samoan home and gravesite is high in my bucket list

He was a very unique, gifted, intelligent, and good man who, like me(no pity party here) suffered in a lot of agony his whole life from health issues. He died way to young.

I love his poem “Requiem” that he asked to be put on his tombstone. Has special meaning for me:

“ Under the wide and starry sky,
Dig the grave and let me lie.
Glad did I live and gladly die,
And I laid me down with a will.

This be the verse you grave for me:
Here he lies where he longed to be;
Home is the sailor, home from sea,
And the hunter home from the hill.
