poor growing up, very average middle class. (Grew up in the 70s and early 80s) But I only remember going out to dinner as a family the evening before Mother’s Day, and then on very few other occasions. Once in a while we went to a pizza parlor or sometimes we would stop at McDonald’s if we were out of town. But none of my fondest childhood memories really had anything to do with things that cost much money. It was just the fun times with my family and my friends, normally simple things.
