Worse case scenario you tank and end up with an Edgecombe or a Bailey at #4 or 5 in 2025, both of whom are still elite prospects. This seems like a no brainer for the organization. Its not like the team won't be intriguing this season. There are a bunch of interesting young players on the current roster worth watching if the Jazz would simply commit to developing them by giving them minutes. The fact is that the franchise would benefit immensely by figuring out the secondary pieces on the roster before the opportunity to take a centerpiece in the draft emerges. And as good as Lauri is, he's not a centerpiece to a title contending team so the team would be wise to capitalize on his current demand in the market. He is a #2 option next to a superstar or a #3 next to a couple of high level all-stars on a title team.
