The median size of a house in the US in the 60's was 1,500sf. Today it's 2,800sf in UT. Much of the increase in housing
costs are that we want (and are willing to pay for) larger houses with better finishes.
Trying to compare housing costs in UT today with housing costs decades ago is foolish unless you account for the change in size and quality.
