how to fix some water damage.
i think my sewer line is clogged between my house and the street. the toilet in the basement wouldn't flush. stuff ended up backing up out of the drain in the furnace room. we got the clog fixed, but the water/whatever that backed up into the furnace room also made it's way under the adjoining walls, so a few rooms have some water damage 3 feet into them. i have pulled up the carpets and have fans on them. it's been about 2 days. it seems fairly dry, but i'm not sure.

should i really tear up the carpet padding as well, and replace that? i figured i'd just put the same carpet back in, and then use a carpet cleaner. but i just am not sure if the padding is drying like it should.

thanks.
