Here’s the thing about disagreeing on CB—especially in the political category. A poster begins a thread stating a strongly held position/opinion that rubs people the wrong way.

The post is just put out there for everybody to read. It’s not usually directed to any particular person. However, when people disagree and feel the need to defend their position, their post is always directed, often in a personal, negative way, back to the original poster. So, almost immediately, posts to all CBers get answered by posts directed specifically to the author of the thread rather than all CBers.
