He hauled jet fuel all over the Rockies and Intermountain west. Sometimes he would go further into the central and eastern time zones.

He loved it. He retired in his early 60’s cause he got tired of the rising costs of insurance and other tightened regulations.

The challenges of being gone a lot more than he was home wore on my MIL and their kids. My wife was All State in High School Basketball and softball. She also got a full ride academic scholarship in music. She has no memories of him ever attending her games or recitals. He loved his biz but it came at a significant cost.

He passed away several years ago but when he talked about it you could tell he really missed it.
