My questions about donating a kidney are:
If you donated how did affect your quality of life?
Other than the initial recovery have you had any issues with your health?
If you received a kidney or if you know someone who has did it improve their quality of life?
I’ll probably have more questions later.
My dad is currently on the kidney transplant list and is going to go through the psychological testing which prepares someone for it.

He’s pretty sick going to dialysis three times a week which (no pun intended) drains him of his energy. He’s had a triple bypass, multiple heart stents and heart ablations.
He’s pretty much home bound except for attending the temple, church and going for short walks. He’s in Utah and we’re in California (I know 😢 it’s a military assignment) so he’s not been able to visit though we’ve visited Utah a few times.
He would really like to go on a couples mission, fly fish with me and his grandkids, golf with us and just have enough energy to have a better quality of life.

I’m conflicted because we didn’t have the best relationship growing up and he’s said and done some pretty rough stuff and it’s been really hard on our family. However, when I see how tough his circumstances are on him and my mom it’s hard to watch.
