First, thank you to everyone who reached out via boardmail and offered to help via several resources, as well as for the advice to escalate to help my nephew and to prevent this from happening to others in the future.

Second, my apologies, in my rush to rant/post, I had one fact wrong. The coach who was derelict in his duty in my opinion and told my sister that "boys will be boys," and refused to act was not the head football coach, but rather coach of the freshman team.

Since yesterday, this has been escalated to the head football coach who is taking it very seriously. He has already suspended the main perp who got on top of my nephew and humped him, there may be more to come here but TBD. In addition, he called a team meeting which involved a lot of yelling and threatening and working with the leaders on the team to change the toxic culture. Things like "this will never happen again under my watch," etc., I have only heard about this second hand since my nephew left the camp and is weighing his options on whether or not he will return or transfer. If he does decide to transfer, I may ask for help again from those in his area. He is in the 1% in terms of his size and genes (his mom was an all state basketball player and God doesn't make many kids who are 6'5'' at age 14), and it would be great if he could find a landing spot with a coach who would take him under his wing and could potentially yield fruits for BYU football down the road.

Thank you once again. I also want to reiterate my point from yesterday which is that for any of us with youth to tell them 1: not to bully/haze, etc., and 2., to be courageous enough to stand up for those who are being bullied.
