take fish by snatching them from the surface, or a couple of inches below the surface. A Bald Eagle going below the surface of the water wouldn't be able to get airborne again like an Osprey. A lot of people that aren't too familiar with Ospreys assume they're Bald Eagles because they're big and they're white and dark brown--sort of like a Bald Eagle.
