Buy a 14k used EV and get the credit.
You (or a relative) have to make less than 78k or 156k jointly. Your daughter I'm sure qualifies but you can't claim her as a dependent the year she takes the credit.

You have to buy from a dealer but just use key savvy as an escrow and they'll file the paperwork if you buy from a private party.

Lots of 2014-5 Tesla S's with free unlimited charging around the bay area at that price if she's willing to fly out and drive back. They haven't dropped in price everywhere yet though.
