I have a son who played D1 football and a daughter who played D1 soccer
With boys it's much harder to tell early. Puberty is a game changer. Many of the kids who dominated in the little kid leagues get left behind when everyone's body changes. My son was a late bloomer. He was a decent athlete but kinda short and chubby as a kid. He was just an average player on most teams. Then Puberty hooked him up. Suddenly, he was big fast and strong.

My daughter was always the best athlete from the first time she touched a ball. More coordinated. Faster. More competitive. Always stood out.

Imo boys are harder to determine at a young age.
