My mother had a blue heeler mix. (Rottweiler may have been the other part.)

He was bigger, a little more stout, and more black than a typical heeler.

Smart and clownish is how I would describe him. If he wanted something to eat, he would bring his food bowl and put it in my mother's lap. If the bowl wasn't available, he would bring a dustpan.
