IMO if it was me, I would stop having babies. The risk and suffering for both parents and child is too high.

They should look into adopting. Having a surrogate. Or there is even ways the Dr’s can remove the bad gene through In Vitro. But it can be really hard to get pregnant that way, AND it’s really expensive. It’s also screwing with Mother Nature a little too much for me to be comfortable going that route.

But we have some friends who are pretty much in the same situation. They did the In Vitro that removed the bad gene, and got pregnant after the 3rd time trying. Hopefully their test tube, genetically altered child is perfectly healthy and other issues don’t arise.
